Common Names: Pearl Moss, Plagiomnium cf. Affine

Pearl Moss is a versatile aquarium moss prized for its soft, bright green coloration and tiny, round leaves that give it a delicate, pearl-like appearance. Easy to care for and adaptable to a wide range of water parameters, it thrives under low to medium lighting and does not require CO2 supplementation, though added CO2 can encourage denser, faster growth. Its compact, branching growth habit makes it ideal for attaching to driftwood, stone, or decorative hardscape, where it can create a natural, aged appearance.

Whether used to soften hardscape edges, create moss-covered trees, or provide shelter for shrimp and fry, Pearl Moss adds texture and depth to planted aquariums. Regular trimming helps maintain its shape and encourages fuller growth. Ideal for nature-style aquascapes, shrimp tanks, and aquariums seeking a lush, established look.

This Pearl Moss is grown in a 5" x 3" tray.

Key Features & Important Notes:

  • Aquarium moss is extremely hardy and will survive in a wide range of aquarium parameters.

  • Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.
  • Benefits from occasional trimming to maintain a dense, healthy appearance
  • Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives.
