  • Antique Saucers / Decorative Plates, Ancient Greek Women Design, Louis XVI Pattern by Hermann Ohme, Clear Glaze, Wall Plates, (Discontinued)
  • Antique:  1900 - 1920
  • Details:  These are absolutely gorgeous saucer size plates!  They are antique German porcelain, from Hermann Ohme (1881 - 1929) in their Louis XVI pattern, (which looks like ancient Greek women to us), we were unable to confirm the pattern name.  The image is in the center of the plate, with floral swags all around the border.  There is a dark green and gold verge that has a beautiful embossing pattern.  The rim is scalloped with embossed dots. The backstamp indicates this plate to be from between 1900 and 1920.  Since this is an extremely hard pattern to find, we think these will be perfect as decor, either as part of a wall plate collection or on a plate stand.  If this is your pattern, and you are looking for replacement saucers, we hope this is a very happy find.
  • Materials:  Porcelain

Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.

Porzellanfabrik Hermann Ohme was started by Hermann Gustav Ohme, a businessman from Wałbrzych.  He built his factory in the town of Niedersalzbrunn (today Sczawienko), and a decorating studio built in the town of Waldenburg (today Wałbrzych).  Hermann Ohme is known for two types of porcelain: Clear Glaze and Old Ivory, which were produced mainly for export to the US and Europe.  Hermann Gustav owned the factory from 1881 to 1921; in 1923, it passed to his son, Hermann Alfred Ohme.  Unfortunately, they didn't foresee the beginning of the Great Depression in the US and increased production and workers, rather than slow it down, or find alternate markets.  The US economic collapse caused Ohme to file bankruptcy, by 1929 the factory was shut down.
